Dense fog to grip country tonight

Moderate to thick fog will grip the country tonight and be prevailing till Tuesday morning leading the temperature to remain unchanged.

The mercury might fall in Rangpur and Mymensingh division. However, the temperature at other parts of the country including capital Dhaka will remain unchanged.

The met office said, the weather will remain partially cloudy and dry temporarily.

Ridge of Sub-continental high extended up to West Bengal and adjoining areas while the seasonal low pressure lies over the Bay of Bengal.

Met office spokesperson Bazlur Rashid said, the cold will increase from Tuesday. Moderate to thick fog is likely to occur at places over northwestern part and the river basin while light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country during midnight till morning.

The country may also experience drizzling between 9 to 10 January which is likely to boost the cold, Bazlur Rashid added.
