The parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Post, Telecommunications, and Information Technology has suggested that all government transactions related to mobile financial services be conducted through "Nagad", the digital financial service of Bangladesh Post Office.
The parliamentary body at a meeting at the parliament placed the suggestion.
The meeting was told that a vested quarter is are misleading the masses by giving wrong information about Nagad.
However, members of the parliamentary body expressed their satisfaction with the activities of Nagad while suggesting making mobile financial services more popular and bringing them to the doorsteps of customers.
All types of social security benefits, including age-old allowance, education scholarships and stipends, should be paid via Nagad, they recommended.
