The Cabinet Committee on Law and Order had recommended a one-day holiday before Eid, but the Cabinet rejected it finally.

As a result, there is no holiday on April 9 (Tuesday).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the Cabinet meeting on Monday morning.

According to the calendar, next  Eid-ul-Fitr holiday will be applicable between April 10 and 12. After that, April 13 is Saturday (one of the weekly government holidays) and April 14 is the Pahela Boishakh holiday. If April 9 was declared as a holiday, government employees could get an off of six consecutive days.
