Brahmanbaria railway line bent again due to intense heat

The railway line at Dariyapur in Brahmanbaria has bent again. As a result, Dhaka-bound train communication has been stopped again. Two days ago, a train derailed due to bending of railway track in intense heat. The same incident happened again 24 hours after the line was repaired in that area. Dhaka-Chittagong and Sylhet train connections have been stopped.

Locals said on Saturday, this time the problem of the line was caught early. After that as part of the precaution, trains from Chittagong and Sylhet to Dhaka have been stopped on that line. Due to the presence of two railway lines on the Dhaka to Chittagong route, train movement from Dhaka to Chittagong and Sylhet is as usual.

Rafiqul Islam, station master of Brahmanbaria, confirmed to the media that the matter of bending the railway line was detected at Dariapur, a suburb of Brahmanbaria at around 11:30 am on Saturday.

He confirmed that train movement on Dhaka route has been stopped since then. However, he could not immediately inform how many or if any trains are stuck. However, train timing disruptions are a common issue when a line is closed.

Last Thursday around noon, while crossing the same place, seven coaches of a container train derailed and the train was disrupted. At that time, the station manager said that the reason for the accident was the bending of the line due to heat. On Friday, the day after the accident, the line was repaired and the train service was resumed.

On the day of the accident, the highest temperature in Brahmanbaria was seen in various mobile phone apps as 36 degrees Celsius, two days later on Saturday it was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius. But where the railway line is located, the temperature was felt more.
