Bangladesh receives 7,81,320 Oxford shots

Bangladesh has received 7 lakh 81 thousand 320 doses of Oxoford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 shots from Japan under the global vaccine project COVAX.

A cargo flight carrying the vaccines landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 3pm pm Saturday (July 31).

Earlier, foreign ministry sources said, a flight of All Nippon Airways took off for Dhaka carrying a consignment of COVAX project.

Bangladesh’s ambassador to Tokyo Shahabuddin Ahmed was present there.

Foreign minister Momen received the first consignment of 2,45,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from Japan on 24 July.

Japan will send around 30.5 lakh doses of AstraZeneca vaccine, while the third consignment of these Jabs is scheduled to arrive from Japan on August 3.
