The homecoming of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman completed the country’s independence, said State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury.
He said, Tungipara is the birthplace of Bangabandhu. So, we owe to the people of Tungipara.
Khalid Mahmud said this after placing wreaths at Bangabandhu’s shrine in Tungipara of Gopalganj on Monday marking the 50th Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu.
“Bangabandhu arched our identity as an independent nation. The whole countrymen respect Tungipara for Bangabandhu. We, who come to Tungipara, become courageous, inspired,” Khalid Mahmud said
Former chief whip Abul Hasnat Abdullah MP, former minister Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Faruk Khan, Whip Abu Said Khan Mahmud Swapan, Wasika Ayesha Khan MP, AL organizing secretary advocate Afzal Hossain, commerce and industry secretary Md. Siddiqur Rahman and office secretary Biplab Barua also paid rich tribute to Bangabandhu.
They also offered special prayer seeking divine blessings for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and family.
