Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested four people including prime accused Monir Hossain over arson and vandalism in Rampura after a bus of Anabil Paribahan hit and run a student.
Assistant Director ANM Imran Khan of Rab’s legal and media wing confirmed the matter to media on Wednesday.
“Monir Hossain masterminded the arson attack and vandalism on several buses. He along with some of his aides have been arrested,” Imran Khan said.
The detainees were held in separate drives of law enforcers in Rampura and Cumilla on Tuesday, added he.
Details would be disclosed later, Imran furthered.
Mainuddin Islam, 17, an examinee of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) was crashed under the Anabil bus on 29 November.
The news of the death of Mainuddin came when students in Dhaka and elsewhere in Bangladesh have been demonstrating demanding safe roads and half fare in all public transports. Nayeem’s death fuelled the students’ protests.
